A true visionary & leader is remembered today

As I was glancing over Martin Luther King Jr.’s history & remembering all that he did for not only the civil rights movement but for our nation in it’s entirety I was brought to tears. With his immense passion, truth & love he changed this nation and the world for that matter. Of course, there was a price that was paid for the words he spoke & hearts he opened. One thing that stands out to me the most when thinking about this amazing man is his intense love for others & the Lord. It was out of this love that I believe he was inspired to see change in a nation that was filled with racism & hate. MLK knew with every inch of his being that what he witnessed everyday was anything but right & Godly. Instead of seeing injustice in the world and accepting it he stood up for his convictions and slowly CHANGED THE WORLD. Equality, Justice, Love…all were the foundation of his movement. After reading about this incredible man I sat back in my office chair and asked myself “what am I doing to bring justice into this world?” My answer scared me, not a whole lot. I ask that you join me not only today but throughout this year and your lifetime to STAND UP for those who are hurting, LOVE those who are broken, BRING JUSTICE to those in this world that have fallen into the cycle of poverty, sickness, neglect. YOU have the power to bring about change. YOU have the ability to see a brighter light in this world. All it takes is stepping out & doing it! Whatever it is…do something to impact this world for the better.

“Everybody can be great…because anybody can serve. You don’t have to have a college degree to serve. You don’t have to make your subject and verb agree to serve. You only need a heart full of grace. A soul generated by love.”
Martin Luther King Jr.

beautiful and thought-filled reminder of what is important in life and how different the world is today because of this one man’s influence. thanks for the list of charities as well.It is one thing to know we should do something and another to practically start doing something!

I am seeing an overwhelming bigotry in our country towards gays. the hate has hit an all time high. Gay is the new Black. even though I do not want to live this lifestyle, I still believe they should be treated with equality and respect.

There are so many hurting people who have nothing… Thanks so much for helping to lead those within your sphere of influence …and helping us to see beyond ourselves to the bigger picture. love you..momma #2
