There are several reason why this engagement session was extra special to me. I’ve known Kristy for years now, my best friend from childhood’s family are relatives to Kristy’s family. Needless to say I was more than excited when she asked me to photograph her upcoming wedding. Another reason I feel so honored to be part of this wedding comes with a back story. You see, Kristy’s brother Tyler was killed while serving our country in Afghanistan almost 2 years ago. He was an amazing man, brave, strong, committed. He formed many solid friendships with the guys he was serving with. One of which was Preston. It wasn’t until Preston would come home that he would meet the love of his life, Tyler’s sister Kristy. It was from the shattered pieces of loss that God knit together a beautiful love story. I can’t help but think that Tyler approves of his sister’s choice of husband.
Words can’t adequately describe how thankful I am to Tyler, Preston & all the others who lay down their life daily so that we can live in a wonderful country with freedoms other parts of the world only dream of. These men & women are heroes in every sense of the word.
K & P~ You two are amazing. Genuine, kind & sweet. I wish there were more people like you in this world! Can’t wait for your day this winter. XO Britt
